Everyone go check out my best friend’s ( @HBKCJ ) video for “Ashley” which can be found on his mixtape “Crash Course.” The video, which is directed by Apollo G, shows a young couple who found out they are pregnant but I’ll let you watch the rest to find out what happens.
The song and video hits home for me because it’s a situation I’ve been in myself and can relate to in many ways. Hope you all enjoy. I’m very proud of this young man.
If you’re going to be in the San Francisco area tonight make your way down to the Rockit Room. The show begins at 9 and there’s no cover charge. If you’re 21+ and looking to get out i would definitely make my way there. Below I will list all information.
Love Rance, who didn’t know. The first song he was ever featured on was very explicit and of course it had to do with sexual relations. The song turned out to be a hit and it landed Rance a record deal. It was a big deal for someone who hadn’t even put out a full song. Well now he’s released his first full mixtape, “Freak Of The Industry” Hosted by Dj Skee.
If you live in the Bay Area I’m almost 110 percent sure you know who the NhT Boyz are. If you don’t know let me introduce you; they are a rap group consisting of three members, Knowledge, Black and Nikatine. All raised in Oakland, CA., the men started a bond that cannot be broken, they’re a family. Some songs you may know are, “Introduction”, “Ying Yang Gang” (which is one of my favorites) and “Good.” Here is their video for “House of Love”. This happens to be one of my favorite songs, which is the reason I chose it and I thought the concept was very cute. You be the judge and let me know what you think?
This weeks mixtape shout out is going to Richmond, CA, native, Ant Bankx. When I first met this guy I had no clue that he had dreams of being a rapper. He was a real goofy kid I met at San Jose State University who loved to draw. After listening to his album, “Rare Air,” I seen his talents went beyond that. Bankx gives you the type of music you can sit back and vibe too. Click here to listen and DL. Continue reading
Oakland born native, Jordan Capozzi aka Lil Debbie first hit the scene when she was featured in Kreayshawns hit video “Bumpin Bumpin.” It wasn’t long before the two had a falling out and Debbie came into her own. This fashionista has attended Fashion Week and is working on her own clothing line. Not only is this Italian beauty all about fashion and modeling but she’s also taking a chance at rapping. July 2, 2012, Lil Debbie realeased her mixtape “Keep It Lit” and released videos to go along with her hits.
Krissy, female emcee, first caught my eye when looking at some videos of the Team Backpack Cyphers. The cyphers, which are a rap battle are usually male dominated so when I came across a video of ladies spitting I had to stop and watch. This petite lady walked up to the mic and rapped like she was the big man in the game. Krissy’s performances on the cyphers got her the attention of female emcee, Lil Kim, who is one of the artist Krissy looks up to, and MTV host Sway, who interviewed her about the cyphers.
